My work centers around magnetic reconnection in HED plasmas. More specifically, I run and analyze 3-D kinetic PIC (particle-in-cell) simulations on the Titan super computer, comparing my results against HED laser experiments at NIF, LLE, and other high-intensity laser facilities around the world. This research has strong implications for both astrophysical particle acceleration mechanisms and inertial confinement fusion.
